Vanessa Stine

Vanessa Stine is an attorney and Equal Justice Works Fellow with Friends of Farmworkers, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to low-wage workers throughout Pennsylvania.  Through her fellowship project, Ms. Stine provides direct representation, advocacy, and community education to low-wage consumers who have been victims of predatory and fraudulent immigration services in Pennsylvania.  Ms. Stine is a recent graduate of Villanova University School of Law, where she was a public interest scholar.  During law school, Ms. Stine spent both her summers at Friends of Farmworkers, including one summer as a Peggy Browning Fund Fellow.  She also interned for a semester at the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) of Pennsylvania and participated in the Farmworker Legal Aid Clinic at Villanova for three semesters.  During law school, Ms. Stine started the Notario Fraud Project, which gathered the stories of victims of immigration services scams and which was the impetus for her fellowship project.  Before law school, Ms. Stine worked as a community organizer and later as a legal assistant at an immigration law firm.
